Fire crews were on the scene of a fire at the Westgate Inn and Suites on 22nd Street West Monday afternoon.
A 911 call came in just after noon on Monday reporting a fire in one of the rooms.
When firefighters arrived, they found two rooms on the second floor fully involved in fire.
Fire crews began searches of every room in the hotel. They helped six people off of a balcony using ladders, and also rescued one occupant from a first-floor room directly below the fire.
One pregnant woman who was inside the room where the fire began had self-evacuated to a safe location. She was medically assessed on scene and later transported to hospital for treatment of what are believed to be minor injuries as a result of the fire.
Fire crews finished work on the facility later in the afternoon, labeling the structure ‘uninhabitable.’ A fire investigator is continuing to analyze the evidence, statements and fire science to identify the cause.
The fire estimate from the damage caused by the blaze is approximately $400,000, according to Saskatoon Fire.
Traffic restrictions have been lifted within the area.
