A 32-year-old woman and a 38-year-old man face a number of charges following a break and enter and evade police incident.
At about 5 p.m. Monday, police were called to a home in the 200 block of Frobisher Crescent. The caller witnessed an unknown woman and an unknown man in the home. The suspects then fled in the complainant’s SUV.
The SUV was spotted a few minutes later by officers at 51st Street and Warman Road. A traffic stop was attempted but the driver refused to stop and headed down Assiniboine Drive and then north on Warman Road, at one point colliding with a police vehicle.
Officers stopped the pursuit due to public safety concerns, but the vehicle was found several minutes later abandoned on Coppermine Crescent.
At the same time, a resident of the 300 block of Assiniboine Drive reported an unknown man and woman had entered his residence through an unlocked door and were hiding from police.
When officers arrived, they found the pair and took them into custody. The man was found to be in possession of identification belonging to other people.
There weren’t any injuries during the incident.
The two are facing charges of break and enter, evade police, dangerous driving and breach of court conditions.
