Police make arrests, recover loaded shotgun after pursuit

Two people are in custody and a loaded shotgun was recovered after a police pursuit ended just after midnight Monday.

Officers witnessed a pickup truck travelling at a high rate of speed eastbound on 11th Street.  Police said the truck lost control and hit a parked vehicle near 11th Street and Avenue K.  The truck continued northbound on Ave. K where it was found abandoned near 18th Street after hitting a parked truck and trailer.

A K-9 unit was successful in arresting two females, 13 and 18, two blocks away. One was treated for a minor injury as a result of a dog bite.  Police recovered a loaded 12 gauge sawed-off shotgun in the truck.

Police continue to search for a third suspect believed to be the driver.
