Man’s body found in South Saskatchewan River

Saskatoon police are investigating after a person was spotted floating in the South Saskatchewan River Friday afternoon.

At around 12:45 p.m. a witness notified police that they saw what appeared to be a deceased person.

Police and fire crews arrived at the area of Spadina Crescent and 25th Street East near the University Bridge and confirmed the man was deceased.

The Saskatoon Fire Department has recovered the man’s body and the scene has been left with Saskatoon police and the Office of the Chief Coroner.

Police are investigating, and ask anyone who may have any information to contact the Saskatoon Police Service or Crime Stoppers.
