A local business owner is doing his part to help those in need through the COVID-19 pandemic.
Don Scott, owner of the Western Academy Broadcasting College, is donating ten meals a day to the Saskatoon Lighthouse. He’s calling it the Ten Meal Challenge.
As of Tuesday, he had donated 160 meals to the supported living shelter. Scott purchases the meals from the Classic Rock n’ Roll Diner.
He believes it’s the least he can do to pitch in during these difficult times.
“There’s a lot of people who are less fortunate, and you just kind of evaluate the situation wondering what you can do to lend a helping hand,” he said.
He’s calling on anyone who has the means to put in a donation to the Lighthouse.
“It doesn’t have to be ten meals, it can just be a small financial contribution. They’re just eager to feed all these people.”
Anyone can make arrangements to donate at the Lighthouse website.
