Family have identified a woman fatally shot in Saskatoon early Monday.
“Tanya Alcrow didn’t deserve this, she was taken away from us on such tragic terms,” her aunt, Cynthia Ann Alcrow, said in a Facebook post.
“My niece was a brave, beautiful and loving young lady. The pain we are all feeling is so unreal, our hearts are broken.”
Police say the 19-year-old woman was found injured near the intersection of Avenue T and 21st Street South around 3:30 a.m. She later died in hospital.
Her death is the city’s fourth homicide of the year.
The young mother is originally from northern Saskatchewan.
Cynthia Ann Alcrow thanked the community of Beauval for the support the family has received.
An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday.
No arrests have been made. Police say the investigation continues and are asking anyone with information to contact 306-975-8300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
