One home stands out from the rest on the 600 block of Pendygrasse Road in Saskatoon.
In front of Marinette Manzano’s house is an Easter display made up of over 1200 balloons.
She says display is part of an initiative called ‘One Million Bubbles of Hope,’ which asks balloon artists from around the world to share their talents to help people find some joy in these difficult times.
“My message is to be strong, stay healthy, stay safe, apply social distancing and spread happiness and positivity,” said Manzano, who manages MicJerJez Party Supplies and Decorator in the city.
Crafting the display took Manzano more than 15 hours over two days.
“So I did that from, I think, 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. and then it’s not yet done. I continued the following day and then set (everything) up,” she said.
Manzano’s display is part of the second round of the ‘One Million Bubbles of Hope’ initiative that features over 300 balloon artists from 15 different countries. The first leg was held on March 26th.
Manzano hopes to leave the display up until Tuesday, if the balloons last. She isn’t sure if this will be the last round of the initiative but she says if there is more, she will be happy to get involved once again and continue spreading happiness throughout her neighbourhood with another balloon display.
