The Saskatoon Fire and Police Services are investigating a fire in the Pleasant Hill deemed suspicious.
Firefighters responded to several 911 calls around 11 p.m. Friday about smoke and flames at 317 Avenue P South.
Crews found flames at the back of the house, which appeared abandoned, the fire department said in a media release.
To get better access to battle the blaze an overhead power line was purposely cut down.
Over the next two hours, steps were taken to protect neighbouring properties as crews got the fire under control.
Saskatoon police were at the scene to make sure firefighters had the space they needed and residents stayed at a safe distance.
A damage estimate is not immediately available as the investigation continues, although the fire department says it’s extensive.
