A Saskatoon man is facing several charges after refusing to stop for police Monday night.
At around 7:30 p.m., police received a report of a hit-and-run.
The complainant said their vehicle had been sideswiped by a truck as they were waiting at a red light at Eighth Street East and Preston Avenue.
The suspect vehicle stopped briefly following the collision, then left the scene at high speed.
Police located the vehicle driving erratically on Brand Place. A traffic stop was attempted, but the driver refused to stop for police.
The suspect vehicle was later disabled by a tire deflation device on Circle Drive south of Taylor Street. That’s where the suspect, the lone occupant of the vehicle, was taken into custody.
A 60-year-old Saskatoon man is charged with dangerous driving, evading police, and two impaired driving-related offences. He was also charged for the hit-and-run.
