A 20-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man face more than 25 charges relating to drug trafficking, firearms and possession of stolen property after they refused to stop for RCMP and entered city limits early Wednesday morning.
At 2:30 a.m. Saskatoon police were notified by the RCMP that two stolen vehicles were headed toward Saskatoon and refused to stop.
The air support unit was able to locate the vehicles and observed one as it was involved in a collision as it left Circle Drive onto Clarence Avenue.
One man attempted to run but was quickly apprehended by patrol officers. He was found in possession of methamphetamine and a knife.
The 23-year-old man is facing charges of possession of methamphetamine, evade police, dangerous driving, possession of stolen property over $5,000, carrying concealed weapon and possession of weapon for dangerous purposes.
The air support unit was able to direct ground units to the second vehicle which came to a stop in the 600 block of Hopkins Avenue where two people were seen leaving the vehicle and running to a nearby home in the 2600 block of Dufferin Avenue.
The suspects refused police commands to leave the home.
A canine unit was successful in locating a woman who was found to be in possession of a digital scale, about 118 grams of methamphetamine packaged for distribution and 10 grams of suspected cocaine. A man was also found inside and taken into custody.
Further investigation confirmed that both vehicles were stolen.
Police also seized two firearms from inside the vehicle on Hopkins Avenue.
