A person who tested positive for COVID-19 participated in Sutherland Curling Club’s league play earlier in March in Saskatoon.
The curling club announced the positive case Sunday in an email to its members, along with a Facebook and website post.
In a post on their Facebook page, Saskatoon’s Sutherland Curling Club says a person with a positive case of COVID-19 participated in league play on March 12th.
They say if you were there on that date, or afterwords, follow provincial procedures.

The email said the person had participated in league play at the curling club on March 12. The opposing team was notified of the case via phone.
“This e-mail is to advise everyone that attended the club on or after the March 12th date should be following the proper procedures as outlined by Health Saskatchewan,” the post stated.
In response, the Sutherland Curling Club said it will be closed until further notice.
A representative from the club specified to 650 CKOM that the curler who tested positive for COVID-19 was not a doctor.
On Saturday Chief Medical Health Officer Dr. Saqib Shahab noted 11 of 22 Saskatchewan healthcare workers who attended an Edmonton bonspiel from March 11 to 14 had tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
As of Sunday, Saskatchewan had tallied 52 COVID-19 cases. None of the cases have been hospitalized.
Anyone with symptoms is encouraged to use the online self-assessment tool set up by the provincial government, which can help determine whether a call to 811 Health Line is required for further assessment.
