The 16-year-old boy charged with uttering threats in a shooting scare at Holy Cross High School has entered into a 12-month peace bond.
Saskatoon police responded to a potential threat involving the Nutana area school on Dec. 3, 2019, after a map, that appeared to show a plan for a shooting, was posted online.
The boy was arrested and charged soon after.
At a court appearance in Saskatoon on March 6, the boys’ charge was stayed.
Crown prosecutor Victoria Kindrachuk said the boy agreed to several conditions as part of the bond including having no access to weapons, not attending Holy Cross and meeting with a youth worker.
She explained that the accused acknowledged what happened was serious but was not meant to cause fear.
At the time of the boys arrest police said the so-called plot was an extremely misguided and misjudged joke and there was no risk to the public.
