Former NHL goaltender Ed Belfour will be speaking Friday at Saskatoon’s Kinsmen Celebrity Sports Dinner.
Dinner organizers confirmed Wednesday he will be in attendance.
The 54-year-old was arrested in Kentucky on Jan. 28 for criminal mischief and alcohol intoxication in a public place.
The arrest report said Belfour was lying on the floor clutching a curtain rod that had been ripped out of the drywall above a window when police approached him.
The report added he was kicking a door to a locked spa in an attempt to get in. The report said Belfour’s speech was slurred, he could barely stand up and he had bloodshot eyes.
Belfour will join other former NHL goaltenders Martin Brodeur, Grant Fuhr, Glenn Hall and Bernie Parent for the 60th annual Kinsmen Celebrity Sports Dinner.
