Early Monday morning police tried to make a traffic stop at Diefenbaker Drive and 22nd St. after seeing a car being driven erratically.
The driver didn’t stop and continued to drive in a dangerous manner, hitting speeds of nearly 190 km/h according to the police Air Support Unit (ASU).

The vehicle eventually stopped on Lorne Ave. and two people fled on foot.
The ASU saw the driver run into a home in the 2400 block of McPherson Ave.
The 34-year-old driver was arrested there.
The ASU had also seen the driver throw a bag from the vehicle. When police located the bag, they found methamphetamine.
A collapsible baton was also discovered in the vehicle.
The man faces charges of dangerous driving, evade police, driving while prohibited, possession of methamphetamine, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace and breach of probation.
