A lot of drugs were taken off Saskatoon’s streets Saturday.
The Saskatoon police drug unit laid charges against five people after a search warrant was executed at an apartment in the 100 block of Wellman Crescent, on the west end of the Stonebridge neighbourhood.
Initially, a 25-year-old man was arrested in a parking lot in the 3000 block of Clarence Avenue when police say they saw activity consistent with drug trafficking.
The man tried to flee, but was eventually taken into custody without incident.
The investigation then led police to the apartment building where four more people were arrested.
They seized a total of 256.02 grams of fentanyl powder, 1001 grams of methamphetamine, 290 grams of cocaine, 49 grams of crack cocaine, over $20,000 in cash, five cell phones, scales and packaging consistent with drug trafficking activity.
The 25-year-old man was charged with trafficking cocaine, three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000 and breach of conditions.
Two men, 22 and 24, and two women, 23 and 24, were arrested at the apartment and charged with three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, and proceeds of crime over $3,000.
