The 2020 Juno Awards are coming to Saskatoon in March, and we now know more about ticket availability and price.
Tickets for the 49th annual awards show will go on sale Friday at 10 a.m., starting at $39.95.
Saskatoon Mayor Charlie Clark said he’s ready for Saskatoon to be put on the national stage once again.
“The last time we hosted the Juno’s was in 2007 and since then, 70,000 people have moved here (and) we’ve opened up incredible venues like the Remai Modern Art Gallery and the Nutrien Wonderhub,” he said.
“Welcoming all the top talent from across the country to SaskTel Centre for a great Juno Awards (show), and all the other great activities that go along with the Juno’s … it’s going to be a great week in March of 2020.”
Prior to the announcement Tuesday at Saskatoon’s TCU Place, the home-grown band One Bad Son played a few songs to showcase Saskatchewan’s talent.
SaskMusic President and drummer of the band, Kurt Dahl, boasted about the talent the province has.
“Our city, and province have produced a remarkable amount of musical success stories in the past few years,” he said.
Dahl listed acts such as The Sheepdogs, Colter Wall, Jess Moskaluke, and The Dead South as examples of how Saskatchewan is a driving force in the music industry.
“The music scene in this province is underestimated on a national scale — we have more musical talent per capita in this province than anywhere else in the word,” Dahl said.
