Saskatoon police officers had a busy Friday night and Saturday morning responding to weapons-related calls.
It started around 9:40 p.m. when a 13-year-old girl and her friends said someone on a balcony pointed a gun at them as they walked on the 200 block of Avenue V South.
The investigation led officers to a 17-year-old boy and a loaded bb gun.
Police charged the teenager with pointing a firearm.
Around 11:25 p.m. police received a call from a driver following a vehicle they believed had an impaired person behind the wheel.
The driver followed them from Highway 11 and 71st Street to the 2500 block of Avenue C North.
At that point, the driver told police two suspects approached and claimed to have a gun.
Responding officers confronted the two suspects.
One of them, a 17-year-old boy, didn’t comply and was tasered, police said in a media release.
The incident will be reviewed, in accordance with police policy.
Finally at 12:36 a.m. police were called to a parking lot on the 3300 block of Fairlight Drive for reports of a man waving a gun.
The man drove away as police arrived sparking a short chase before officers lost sight of the vehicle.
Police located the suspect on the 200 block of Whitecap Crescent and recovered a rifle.
A 27-year-old man faces several charges including impaired driving, evading police, dangerous driving, possession of a controlled drug, careless use of a firearm and unauthorized possession of a firearm.
He also had warrants from North Battleford RCMP.
