Let’s not count out the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
Yes, they’ve lost two straight games and Chris Streveler is 2-3 as a starter. Yes, they just got smoked by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in their first loss this season at IG Field in Winnipeg.
But, they also have the biggest playmaker on the defensive side in the CFL named Willie Jefferson, the league’s leader in interceptions, Winston Rose, and a linebacker named Adam Bighill you may have heard about.
The Riders needed a last-second field goal to beat a Bombers team and then got fed their lunch by Winnipeg the next week. Both games Streveler started and both games did not include the top running back in the league, Andrew Harris.
Oh yeah, Andrew Harris, who will play the Riders for the first time this season.
While many, including myself, are predicting the Riders will win their 10th game of the year and their third straight, Winnipeg is still a force to be reckoned with in the race to the CFL’s West Division crown.
