A crash involving two vehicles on Circle Drive has closed a section of Saskatoon’s busiest road Sunday.
Shortly after 11 a.m., police responded to an area on the northbound lanes of Circle Drive, just north of 8th Street East, for a collision that sent two people to hospital.
A 95-year-old woman and a 40-year-old man were sent to hospital in stable condition after suffering minor injuries.
The Saskatoon Fire Department dispatched two fire engines, one heavy rescue unit and a battalion chief to the crash. Hydraulic tools needed to be used to remove both drivers from their vehicles.
Collision analysts are on scene. Police are advising drivers to stay away from the area. Northbound lanes of Circle Drive are being diverted to 8th Street.
A media release from Saskatoon police said traffic restrictions were lifted around 4 p.m.
