Mace, Milligan, Ferland named West Division award winners

Corey Mace, Rolan Milligan Jr., and Logan Ferland will be up for awards during Grey Cup week.
Two stories this week should inspire anybody striving to reach a goal, even after they’re constantly told “no,” or are given an excuse why they can’t move up in their field or on the field.
First, Chris Kunitz. Undrafted to the NHL and after more than 1,000 games and four Stanley Cups and an Olympic gold medal, he announces his retirement following 15 great years in the NHL. Some of those he spent playing alongside a legend like Sidney Crosby.
The second is the news out of Miami that former Roughrider Sam Eguavoen is more than impressing in his first week of training camp in the NFL.
Eguavoen was working at a shoe store and also getting ready for police school when he was encouraged to go to a Roughrider free agent camp. Then GM and head coach Chris Jones didn’t even look at Eguavoen when he registered.
Three years later, he was one of the top CFL defenders and off to the NFL because he caught Jones’ eye on the field.
Hard work, dedication and perseverance are qualities necessary to achieve greatness in anything you do.
Kunitz’s paid off; Eguavoen appears to be well on his way.
