Five people were arrested on approximately 80 charges following an incident Monday morning.
Two women (22, 36) and three men (25, 26, 27) are charged with evading police, dangerous driving and firearm related charges in the incident that started at 3:30 a.m. Monday.
A patrol officer attempted to stop a stolen Buick Regal at Avenue D and 23rd Street West, when they evaded police.
The Air Support Unit was able to locate the vehicle, where it stopped on Avenue R North and a passenger fled the vehicle, throwing items over a fence.
The vehicle then went to the 2500 block of 33rd Street West, where two more passengers fled the vehicle.
The stolen vehicle then stopped at Wedge Road and 33rd where officers attempted to stop it.
Officers successfully deployed a tire deflation device, but the vehicle continued travelling outside of the city.
Officers were then able to force the vehicle into a ditch.
They ended up locating and arresting the suspects, finding loaded firearms, knives, hatchets, bear mace, ammunition, cell phones, and drug paraphernalia.
