The Ministry of Advanced Education says compliance issues and students complaints lead to it not renewing the registration for the Saskatoon School of Horticulture.
It has been told by the ministry to cease operation and will no longer be able to offer full semester courses.
This leaves several students wondering what the next step for them is.
Dave Boehm with the Ministry says they will be reaching out to the students to develop a plan.
According to Boehm, some of the student complaints included quality and delivery of programs.
Boehm says one example is a horticulture program regarding cannabis production. The program and materials had not been approved.
Boehm added that the average rate of student complaints at private vocational schools in the province is one per-cent. The rate of complaints at the Saskatoon School of Horticulture was 19 per-cent.
The school sent a letter stating it’s case to Premier Scott Moe and other political and community leaders earlier this month.
