Saskatoon police are asking for help to track down a robbery suspect after a clerk was left with serious injuries Tuesday morning.
A media release from police says officers were called at about 2:30 a.m. to a convenience store in the 200 block of Pendygrasse Road for a robbery.
When officers arrived, they located an employee suffering from serious injuries. The 20-year-old man was taken to hospital.
According to police, the suspect had left the store at 2:16 a.m. after attempting to make a purchase.
He returned about 10 minutes later with his face covered, this time carrying a pipe with a blade taped on the end of it.
He allegedly assaulted the employee behind the till before running away.
The suspect is described as being in his late teens to early 20s, standing approximately 5-foot-7. He was wearing a black bunnyhug with red lettering on the back and left sleeve.
He was also wearing a red Chicago Bulls hat and a black balaclava over his face.
