In the middle of severe thunderstorm warnings Saturday afternoon, a funnel cloud was spotted just outside of Saskatoon.
Around 12 p.m. listeners told 650 CKOM they spotted cloud on the west side of the city.
“You could see a funnel cloud that was about a quarter of the way down from the clouds to the ground,” Trevor Yagelniski said.
He saw it to the west while driving into Saskatoon from north of Martensville.
As the system continued east toward him he described heavy rain leaving standing water on the road.
“The occasional pea-sized hail and it’s really really dark,” Yagelniski said.
Environment Canada ended the severe thunderstorm warnings for the city and surrounding area just after 1 p.m.
