Saskatoon has a new millionaire thanks to the province-wide Vault Breaker jackpot.
Kevin Olsen was playing a VLT at Coachman Beverage Room in Market Mall last Sunday when he hit the jackpot of $1,149,131.61.
“I was in total disbelief,” Olsen said in a Western Canada Lottery Corporation media release.
He called his sister to share the big news and said pretty soon the rest of his family was celebrating with him at the Coachman.
Olsen doesn’t have any big plans for his winnings yet, but he has a few ideas.
“I’m going to pay some bills and try to invest the majority of it,” he said. “Retirement might actually be in sight now.”
He joked that he would keep working, just maybe not quite as hard.
The Vault Breaker prize started in 2017 and links 4,200 VLTs across the province.
Olsen’s win moves the jackpot back down to $500,000.
