The disappearance of an Edmonton woman is now being investigated as a homicide.
Saskatchewan RCMP’s Major Crime Unit North, with the assistance of police in North Battleford and Prince Albert, have determined that Tiki Brook-Lyn Laverdiere’s disappearance is the result of foul play and is now being considered a homicide.
Laverdiere, 25, was last seen in North Battleford on May 1. She had originally travelled to the area for a funeral on April 27 and has not been heard from or seen since. Police are still attempting to determine if she left the area, as she didn’t have a mode of transportation while in North Battleford.
“Over the course of the last several days, police executed search warrants in a number of locations in the city of North Battleford and are now in the process of reviewing the information gathered as a result,” said a media release issued Monday afternoon.
Police are continuing to pore over additional information and public tips.
Anyone with information relating to Laverdiere’s homicide is asked to contact the Battlefords RCMP at 306-446-1720 or CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or submit a tip online (www.saskcrimestoppers.com).
