A home in the Holiday Park area went up in smoke Tuesday morning.
Fire crews were called to 1138 Avenue P South after 8 a.m. and arrived to find flames coming out of the basement and side of the home.
Battalion Chief Rob Hogan said crews quickly brought the blaze under control.
The owner and a pet managed to get out safely.
The fire is considered suspicious but an exact cause has yet to be determined.
