Saskatoon police are investigating an incident downtown after a firearm was discharged when a pedestrian and a cyclist collided Saturday.
The bizarre scene took place around 10:30 a.m. when police responded to a report of a firearm being discharged in the 300 block of 3rd Avenue South.
According to media release from police, a man exiting a building collided with a cyclist causing the firearm to go off. Police believe the firearm was in the cyclist’s backpack when it fired.
No on was hurt, but a window of a nearby business was smashed in the process.
The cyclist fled the scene before officers arrived. Police do not believe the firearm was discharged intentionally. They will continue to investigate and pour over video surveillance from the area.
