A one-of-a-kind new resort opening near Saskatoon was announced Tuesday morning.
The Lakeside Golf and Event Centre unveiled its new resort community, located about 25 minutes from Saskatoon on Blackstrap Lake.
The new area adds another golf course to the over 200 currently in the province and adds another course close to the city of Saskatoon.
Lakeside strategic operations and marketing manager Brandon Moore, said the course offers something for every golfer.
“We wanted that professional golfer looking for a challenge, to be able to go out there and get that,” he said.
Lakeside isn’t just for the pros, however. The new course will officially open in the spring of 2020 with nine holes. Multiple tee-boxes will provide opportunities to change things up.
Moore said there’s an opportunity to expand the course as well.
“There’s plenty of room for future expansion of the golf course. We’re trying to be astute in our business decisions, and grow it one phase at a time.”
The resort offers opportunities beyond golf. The development around the course and the lake gives the area the ability to be a spot where people can live year-round, or invest in property.
Owners will also be able to rent out properties using a rental pool operated by Lakeside.
Lakeside Estates has already sold out of its first phase for properties. Bidding opens July 5 for the next phase. There are several different styles of cottages, ranging from $298,000 in price, to $479,000.
