Saskatoon police say an impaired driver was brought to their detention cells to sober up after a collision early Monday morning.
Officers went to the scene of the crash on the 300 block of Forrester Road shortly before 1 a.m.
They arrived to find a truck flipped over in the road after apparently crashing into six parked vehicles and hitting a wheelchair ramp attached to a nearby home.
Police reported in a media release that the 31-year-old driver of the truck was arrested for impaired driving and then taken to the cells. Once there, he was reportedly charged with refusing to provide a breath sample.
No injuries were reported. Police said the driver was to be released once he was sober on what is known as officer in charge recognizance — which is similar to a bail undertaking and can include conditions such as requirements to attend court, not consume alcohol and not leave the province until charges are dealt with.
