A pretty impressive group will be inducted into the Saskatchewan Hockey Hall of Fame this year.
The list includes former Saskatoon Blades defenceman Curtis Leschyshyn.
Leschyshyn played over 1,000 games during his 16 seasons in the NHL winning a Stanley Cup with the Colorado Avalanche in 1995.
Despite all his accolades he said he still has some trouble thinking of himself as a hall of famer.
“To be included into a group of players like Gordie Howe and Bryan Trottier, players that when you were a kid you idolized and wanted to be like, it’s quite humbling,” said Leschyshyn, who lives in Saskatoon with his wife and kids.
The Saskatchewan Hockey Hall of Fame annual induction dinner will take place July 6 at Prairieland Park in Saskatoon.
A full list of inductees can be found on the SHOF website.
