Saskatoon police issued a $952 fine Sunday night to a 17-year-old boy caught going more than double the posted speed limit.
The traffic unit recorded the driver travelling at 112 kilometres per hour along McKercher Drive. The speed limit in that area is 50 km/h.
Along with the fine, the boy’s vehicle was impounded for seven days.
On Monday morning, the traffic unit shared the story on Twitter along with a message to talk to young drivers about excessive speed.
Last night, a 17-year old boy was stopped on McKercher Dr after officers clocked him at 112 km/h in the 50 zone. Excessive speeds come with consequences. A $952 fine was levied along with a 7-day vehicle impound.
