The Saskatoon Police Service (SPS) Air Support Unit took to Twitter on Tuesday night to share a first.
Police recorded a motorcycle travelling 250 kilometres per hour on a secondary highway near Vanscoy.
According to the pilot, this is most likely a speed record for the air support unit.
The SPS plane tracked the driver heading south on Highway 45 from Delisle. The driver eventually dumped the bike and ran, according to police.
In a statement Wednesday, Saskatoon police said the file was turned over to the RCMP in the area.
We crossed another one off of the “never seen that before” list. Today a guy evaded Police and fled at 250km/h on a secondary highway in Saskatchewan ON A MOTORCYCLE. Yes snow everywhere as you can see. Spoiler alert he dumped his bike and ran. pic.twitter.com/DMB7UnooR4
