Moose Jaw’s moose war with Norway is hitting new heights.
Last week, the Norwegian band Ganic Vimarida released a song that called for a truce between the two communities that have been vying for the title of the world’s tallest moose.
In jest, the song suggests neither community should care who has the tallest moose. The singer suggests there be a truce.
Moose Jaw Mayor Fraser Tolmie says “No Way Norway.”
And now he has a song to back him.
In a Facebook post, singer Dave Carroll said he and his band and…. “all of us in Nova Scotia, are proud to stand behind our Saskatchewan brothers and sisters and the city of Moose Jaw in this dispute with Norway.”
The lyrics of his song echo those sentiments.
“You took what wasn’t yours and you’d like to make amends. We’re grateful for the olive branch, but here’s how this’ll end. Mac will be the tallest moose the world will ever see.”
Mayor Fraser Tolmie said engineers in his community will continue to look at ways of making Mac the Moose taller.
