It’s around this time of year we start to feel a little cooped up.
This weekend, though, the Winter Shines festival offers a cure for cabin fever.
Organizer Shad Ali says the igloo fest, pony rides and snow park at the Saskatoon Farmer’s Market will keep people busy this weekend.
“We’ve also arranged a variety of activities indoors and outdoors and extended the period of time, so people can have lots of things they can do,” Ali said. “There lots of activities that can get them thinking about being active in certain and unique and different ways.”
Ali said the theme this year is “Saskatchewan grown.”
You’ll notice that in the snow maze.
“In that maze, you find things that are grown raised or produced here in Saskatchewan. They’ve done some of the carving, the ice carving, for example will mimic what’s grown here in Saskatchewan,” Ali said.
Winter Shines runs through next weekend.
