The 20th annual BHP Enchanted Forest wrapped up the 2018/2019 holiday season with record-breaking attendance.
Officials say 80,520 people visited the light display over the seven week period that it was open at Saskatoon’s Forestry Farm Park.
It beats the old record of 77,000 set during the 2017/2018 display.
Organizers credit warmer than normal weather, the new Charlie Brown display and contests and giveaways for attracting more people.
Another big draw was the Saskatchewan Blue Cross Light Walk events.
Over two nights, around 9,000 people walked through the display.
The Saskatoon Zoo Foundation and Saskatoon City Hospital Foundation expects to have raised more than $250,000 but are still crunching the numbers.
Plans are already underway for the next display which is set to open on Nov. 16, 2019.
