Two Saskatoon schools were locked down Tuesday afternoon and now police search for a machete-wielding man and another with a rifle.
It started just after one o’clock with reports of an armed man in the 200 block of Avenue S South. He was accompanied by a man on a bike.
One of them apparently tried but couldn’t get into the school.
Shortly after that, another report came in, this one from Avenue N South describing those same two suspects.
The lockdowns were lifted at about 2 p.m.
Police are looking for one man in a dark sweatshirt with dark pants and possibly armed with a machete.
The second suspect is believed to be carrying a firearm and was described as wearing a dark bunnyhug with baggy, khaki pants.
Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call the Saskatoon Police Service at 306-975-8300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
