Saskatoon police are looking for a pair of suspects in a violent early morning morning.
Police reported they were called around 4:45 a.m. to a convenience store on the 3300 block of 8th Street East, near the Centre Mall.
Two men allegedly came into the store and attacked the man working behind the counter, hitting him repeatedly in the head and back.
One of the suspects then reportedly threw a drawer from the store’s till through the front door, shattering the glass.
Police said the pair fled with cash and cigarettes.
The store clerk was taken to hospital for treatment. There was no word on the severity of his injuries.
The first suspect was described as wearing a grey sweatsuit and a black hat. He was also believed to have been wearing white shoes.
The second suspect was reportedly wearing a black and red shirt and had shorter hair.
