One of the things that makes football interesting was in full display on Thanksgiving Monday. The best teams can be held at bay in any given game.
The top two teams in the CFL’s west division have combined for a 22 and 7 record to date. (Calgary is 12 and 2, Saskatchewan is 10 and 5.) Yet, the Stampeders only scored one touchdown against the three-win Alouettes, and that was on the ground.
The Riders lone touchdown against the Eskimos came from the defense. It’s hard to believe that neither Bo-Levi Mitchell or Zach Collaros threw a touchdown pass against their respective opponents based on their records. This adds intrigue to the playoff games that we will see next month.
Yesterday’s results back up the saying “good teams find a way to win”.
The two best teams in the league did that. However, the lack of offense can also leave the best of teams vulnerable in a do-or-die postseason game.
