Some online threats made earlier this week were taken very serious by the University or Saskatchewan and emergency officials.
In a Facebook post Wednesday night a profile under the name of Victor Olkowski said “After I execute the Saudi leaders at the centre of the the bowl at the University of Saskatchewan I want my pay cheque.”
A second post on the same account Thursday morning again called for Saudi leaders to be executed at the U of S, tagging the university in the text.
Thursday morning, police located a suspect’s vehicle a couple of blocks off campus then, with the assistance of U of S protective services, a 24-year old man was removed from campus and taken into custody without incident.
Officials have deemed the campus safe and continue to investigate.
At this time police have not confirmed the identity of the man charged aside from his age.
