The city of Saskatoon is planning two parties on Oct. 2 to celebrate a pair of bridges worth almost $500-million.
The Chief Mistawasis Bridge, at the McOrmond Drive and Central Avenue extension, will open to vehicles later that day with the Traffic Bridge set to connect drivers on Victoria Avenue to downtown on Oct. 3.
Graham construction was awarded the public-private partnership projects in 2015.
Construction on the Chief Mistawasis Bridge, formally known as the North Commuter Parkway, began in February 2016.
Two separate ceremonies are slated for Oct. 2 starting on the deck of the Chief Mistawasis Bridge at 8:50 a.m.
At noon, food trucks and entertainment will take over the Traffic Bridge.
Vehicle traffic across the bridge is set to open on Oct. 3.
