Saskatoon police reported officers were forced to pull out their stun guns after encountering a combative and intoxicated woman Wednesday morning.
Officers responded just before 7:30 a.m. to a report of a woman using a rock to smash the windows of a business on the 500 block of 33rd Street W.
They arrived to find the 33-year-old woman, who was allegedly holding some needles. Police reported that a Taser was fired unsuccessfully and a second was deployed when the woman began to hurt herself.
She was taken into custody without further incident and transported to hospital for observation.
Police said the woman could face charges of mischief and possession of a controlled substance.
As per policy, police will also be reviewing the use of the Taser.
