A ticket and event company that got its start in Saskatoon has been bought by a U.S. firm.
Picatic, an online platform for event ticketing and registration was bought by San Francisco-based Eventbrite, according to a media release issued this week.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Picatic was founded in 2008 by Jayesh Parmar, with its first head office located in Saskatoon.
The company later moved its headquarters to Vancouver.
Since its founding, Picatic expanded into the U.S., the U.K., Australia, Sweden, Switzerland and Denmark.
Eventbrite has become a major player in the global online ticket business over the last decade, processing $10 billion in gross sales since its founding in 2006.
Picatic CEO Jayesh Parmar wrote there would be no immediate changes to any events already live on the company’s platform.
