Todd Marien has a new million dollar home thanks to the Kinsmen Home Lottery.
But he almost missed the call.
“We were at my son’s grad when they tried to call me and I was declining the call,” Marien said.
Marien said his wife was convinced they won something small like a toaster.
“It’s a little bit better than a toaster,” Marien joked.
The family won the million dollar grand prize show home on 11th Street East and $50,000.
They got their first look at their new home Thursday afternoon.
“It’s a really nice house and we could see ourselves living here for sure,” the 42-year-old said.
Marien has purchased tickets for the home lottery for the last 15 years but has never won anything until now.
He calls the prize humbling.
Among the other winners announced Thursday is Lorie Houle who won the 50/50 prize and Pat Stewart the winner of the Porsche 718 Boxster.
