Two women are facing charges after allegedly fleeing from Saskatoon police in a stolen truck.
Patrol officers reportedly spotted the stolen Ford F-150 around 3 a.m. at the intersection of Confederation Drive and 22nd Street West.
Police said the truck took off from an attempted traffic stop and was then shadowed by the air support unit’s plane.
Officers in the plane were able to direct ground units to Ruth Street, where they were able to blow out the truck’s tires using a stop stick — a device similar to a spike belt.
The plane tracked three suspects who then fled on foot to a back yard on the 10 block of Cantlon Crescent.
Officers were able to find and arrest two women, 28 and 54. Police said the women were found in possession of crystal meth.
Police said a search of the truck also turned up a gun.
A canine unit was not able to find the third suspect seen fleeing from the truck.
The two women are charged with drug possession and possession of stolen property over $5,000.
