Several calls to Saskatoon police Saturday afternoon led officers to a driver suspected of driving high.
Reports started coming in around 1:30 p.m. that a driver in a green van had rolled through a red light at 25th Street toward the University Bridge.
Witnesses told police the van bounced off a curb and almost hit a pedestrian in the area.
A few minutes later another slew of calls came in this time from people near College Drive and McOrmond Drive who reported a man slumped over the steering wheel of a green van.
Police spotted the van around 1:45 p.m. near the intersection of McOrmond and Addison Road where the driver appeared to be slumped over the wheel.
Fire crews and Medavie Health Services West personnel medically cleared the suspect before his arrest.
The 56-year-old is charged with driving while impaired by a drug, possession of marijuana and faces several unrelated warrants.
