Saskatchewan RCMP are asking for the public’s help finding a truck allegedly involved in a violent chase in the early hours of Friday morning.
Police said a rural homeowner confronted at least two suspects as they attempted to steal from his property near Debden.
Two long-barrel guns were allegedly taken before the suspects fled in a pickup truck.
The property owner used his own vehicle to pursue the suspects, but backed off after they reportedly fired a number of shots at him.
RCMP were able to track down the truck and begin a pursuit, but they were unable to safely bring it to a stop before losing contact with it.
The truck is described as a black, four-door Dodge pickup, with damage to its rear tailgate, driver’s side taillight and a smashed rear window.
RCMP are warning the public not to approach the vehicle if they spot it but to call 911 immediately.
Anyone with tips on this incident can also contact their local police service, the Big River RCMP detachment at 306-469-2590, or any RCMP Detachment at #310-RCMP (7267) or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
