A 40-year-old man is facing charges after accidentally shooting himself in the leg during an attempted home invasion Monday afternoon in Pleasant Hill.
Police officers were called around 4 p.m. about a problem at a residence in 2100 block of 20th Street West.
Officers arrived to find a man in the backyard suffering from a gunshot wound. Two other men were in the home and the front door was broken.
Further investigation revealed the injured man was also the suspect.
He was taken to hospital but his injuries were not considered serious and he has been released.
He’s now facing a total of six charges for break and enter and various firearms offences.
Police said the incident was not random.
