Suspected overdoses are being blamed for two more people being hospitalized in Saskatoon on Tuesday.
Police said in a release they were called to an apartment on Avenue G between 17th and 18th Street around 7:30 a.m.
When officers arrived, they found two men unconscious and suffering from suspected overdoses. The person who called police said they had administered a naloxone dose to one man.
Officers delivered two more naloxone doses to the man, while paramedics provided the opiate antidote to the second man.
Police said both of the men regained consciousness before being transported to hospital in stable condition.
A police spokesperson told 650 CKOM the drug responsible for the overdoses is suspected to be fentanyl, but the substance is being tested by a drug lab for confirmation.
He added it’s too early to tell whether the overdoses are connected to a recent fentanyl-laced cocaine scare that claimed three lives.
