A man stabbed at a Saskatoon bar was reportedly determined to avoid treatment for his injuries.
Police said they responded to a report of an injured person around 2:15 a.m. Monday in the area of Dublin’s Irish Pub and Grill on the 3300 block of Fairlight Drive.
They arrived to find the alleged victim leaving the scene in a black Saturn.
The driver reportedly refused to stop, continuing to drive until he arrived at a parking lot off Centennial Drive.
Police said a woman got out of the vehicle, but the driver stayed in the car and wouldn’t come out.
Officers reported the man became “verbally combative” as they tried to persuade him to get treatment for his wound.
Eventually, police used a beanbag round to break one of the Saturn’s windows, prompting the man to get out of the car.
Paramedics then took the man to hospital with what was described as a non-life threatening stab wound.
Police asked anyone with information to call them at 306-975-8300 or contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
